If you are like most of our SMB customers, you are struggling to keep up with the new demands of making yourselves known in the world of social media. Don’t despair! Here are some tips to help you along. Feel free to contact us for additional information and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for frequent insights and links to other resources.

  • Establish the major accounts: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and even YouTube. You can allow most of your postings on one of these sights to be linked to the others. YouTube is excellent for video presentations and those videos can also be posted to your website. Google+ Pages has also been recently launched and is worth looking into.
  • Maintain your pages on these sites. Nothing will make your page staler than lack of updated information. The most recent South Jersey Biz Magazine (Vol 2, Issue 1) quoted Gerard Capistrano, MBA, adjunct professor from Rutgers, who teaches Social Media. “This isn’t like the early 2000s, when you put up a website and that was sufficient…You need an active platform where people are commenting and conversation is being inspired about your products or service.”
  • SEO – Search Engine Optimization is key. Be sure to use the right keywords that your customers would use to search for your company or your product.
  • Think about other ways of making yourself known online, such as blogging. Create relevant content and put yourself in your customers’ shoes.
