As an IT company, we often get asked about our recommendations for tech gifts for the holidays. Here are a few of our favorites:

  • You may be familiar with the Moleskine journals and notebooks, legendary for having been used by Hemingway and other writers. Now, Moleskine has some great products for smartphones and tablets. The Smartphone Cover is compatible with iPhone 3G and 3GS, and the Tablet Cover is iPad compatible. (No mention of the iPad 2 and new iPhone 4S on their website, yet.) Both covers are combined with blank notebook pages. The covers are in the style of the Moleskinetraditional Moleskine notebooks, and the inside suede lining protects the electronic devices. The Tablet Cover is a hefty $89.95, but a solid investment. The Smartphone Cover is $55. All products can be found at moleskine.com. Better yet, try the free Moleskine app for the iPad, which will make you feel like you are using a Moleskine notebook.
  • The Jaybird Freedom Bluetooth Wireless Headphone is a great tech gift and getting good reviews at $99.
  • It’s hard to beat the iPhone 4S with its 8MP camera and new Siri voice system, taking the smartphone to the robotic level. Prices vary depending on your phone plan.
  • Kindle Fire – at $199, the Kindle Fire is a great entry level tablet and offers the best in reading. While not as sophisticated as the iPad, it definitely delivers for this price range.
  • iPad 2 – on many wish lists this holiday, the iPad 2 starts at $499. Its screen is larger than the Kindle Fire and its 3G connectivity and multitude of apps enable it to be an alternative to a laptop. In addition, it’s just plain fun.
  • Sticky Password – a great password manager for the price and for up-to-date security. As a plus, it is also a form filler, making it a breeze to fill out those online forms when ordering.
