small_Untitled-ipadA lot has been written lately about iPad for business and the many new apps and other resources one can use to utilize the iPad in an every-day business environment. This is especially true for the latest iPad. Just last week, two articles appeared, one in the online journal The Next Web (http://thenextweb.com) and one in iPadInsight (http://ipadinsight.com.) Both were complimentary of the iPad and its accessibility for the business user. Both articles also directed their readers to the Apple iPad site to review the tutorials and videos for business, since they are clear and informative.

Since our CEO just received the new iPad for his birthday, I decided to take a look at the iPad site to offer him suggestions on enriching his own use for business. Many of our clients, especially in the Healthcare industry are also using iPads and we have helped them integrate it into their overall IT strategy and business implementation.

The iPad in Business webpage provides a good list of suggestions for using the iPad at work. Some of the benefits listed are streamlining business tasks, eliminating paper work and improving office efficiency. Apple has improved in integrating PCs with Apple products, such as the iPad. Some apps that are useful for business and sharing and creating documents are Pages, Keynote, QuickOfficePro HD and Share Plus Office. Penultimate and Evernote are good apps for capturing and brainstorming ideas. There are apps for remote access and for reviewing the status of your IT Infrastructure and CRM. If you are familiar with apps, you know the list is too long for this article, so give yourself time to browse the site.

Now more than ever, with access to the Cloud, the iPad is becoming more useful in a business environment. We will keep you posted on our clients’ reactions to the latest push by Apple to increase the iPad’s use in business and will update you on apps that can benefit your SMB, too.
